The Friends of Bookham Commons is an independent group supporting the work of the National Trust who own and manage the commons. Active for over 25 years, the Friends have raised funds for the preservation of wildlife on the Commons, and for the enjoyment of local people and visitors. The friends hold an annual fund raising celebration evening at the Barn Hall in Bookham. The ranger provides an update on recent activity, and a guest speaker gives a presentation on an aspect of nature.

Previous projects supported by funds raised by the Friends of Bookham Commons include the construction of bird hides, the building and replacement of footbridges, signage, notice boards and much more.

The friends have also helped fund a natural children’s play area on the Commons.
